Basic time-lapse on your
GoPro 4

Timelapse is basically just video, played in high speed. This enables you to make a seemingly static scene come alive with dramatic motion. With this tutorial we will teach you how to capture scenes like the one you see on the right side.

Hot tips:

1. Use the GoPro app to make sure your framing and composition is right, but turn off the Wifi before your start the timelapse, because this is a real battery drainer. You turn in on and off by pressing and holding the settings button for some seconds, until you get a beep and some blue lights blinking.

2. When you get comfortable with this you could advance to using protune. It is a bit harder to manage, and you have to do some work with the files in your video editing software, but we think it is worth it.

We are two industrial designers living near Oslo, Norway.
We became fascinated of how timelapses would make a seemingly static scene come to life with dramatic motions! And this became possible just using a smartphone or a GoPro.

Our goal with Snail is to help people discover and learn how to make good timelapses! Many people don`t know how powerful their GoPro or smartphone is.

About the Snail

The idea behind the Snail came as a result of a product we wanted our selves but could not find. Existing timelapse sliders are bulky, expensive and difficult to use. We wanted to create a very small, easy to use and flexible dolly for the small, but powerfull cameras.
